The 11th Street Diner is an original Art Deco Diner from Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1948 by the paramount dining car company of Haledon, New Jersey and transported to Wilkes-Barre where it opened that year. 44 years later, in 1990, it was dismantled and transported to the historic Art Deco district of Miami Beach.
After many months of restoration work and with the help of the people, and the City of Miami Beach, the diner was restored to its original Deco form and opened on September 11, 1992.
Först hade Maxime och jag tänkt att äta lunch någon annan stans denna dagen men när vi kom in på dinern på vår art deco-runda ändrade vi oss snabbt. Snacka om genuint 50-talsställe. Vi blev så inspirerade att vi körde hela racet med hamburgare, Oreo milkshake och sweet potaoe fries. Yummie!
