I samband med v\u00e4rldsutst\u00e4llningen i Paris 1900 s\u00e5 \u00f6nskade man binda ihop Champs Elys\u00e9es och Invalidedomen och man beslutade att bygga en bro \u00f6ver Seine; Pont Alexander III, samt konsthallarna Le Grand Palais och Le Petit Palais p\u00e5 var sin sida av den nya bron och ditto gatan.<\/span>

Le Grand Palais byggdes i d\u00e5tidens popul\u00e4ra stil art nouveau i st\u00e5l och glas och har Europas st\u00f6rsta glastak.<\/span><\/p>\n
